    Basically, all the film manufactures have done, is evaluate the ElectroMagnetic spectrum of Wave Transmission, decided that since they could block the wave transmission of Ultraviolet (UV) Rays at the high end of the Visible Light Spectrum, why couldn’t they find a composition that would block the Infrared (IR) Rays encountered at the low end of the Visible Light Spectrum. Infrared Radiation is the heat factor in the overall electromagnetic spectrum. While blocking both upper and lower limits of the visible light spectrum, nearly all the desired visible light in the middle of this spectrum, is still allowed to come thru the glass or windshield with the Prescription Windshields material installed.
