  I find it simply amazing how major auto manufactures continue to release new trucks, vans, and SUV's alike, with fresh beautiful new flowing designs, and no protection from the sun in the front windshield area. Yet as we move to the rear of the vehicle, we find a "privacy" glass which offers just that... privacy, and little or no solar efficiency. The darker glass costs more installed from manufacture, and still requires window tint for relief from the IR heat coming thru this colored privacy glass. This is a deadly combination for police officers. As a Nation, why don't we consider a 35% solar efficient glass for all the side and rear windows, and possibly a 50% VLT windshield. WOW, what a concept; providing Options to consumers of cool new cars, products that we really need. Until the public cries out for attention to this horrendous oversight, officers will be on the defense.
